Task Force to Combat Antisemitism Targets Campus Activists

Leo Terrell, head of the U.S. Department of Justice-led Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, announced plans to file federal hate crime indictments against campus activists supporting Hamas and intimidating jews. Terrell stated that these individuals could face jail time “not for 24 hours, but for years.”
The task force was formed following President Donald Trump’s executive order on “Additional Measures to Combat Antisemitism.” The Department of Justice expects to file the first indictments within the next week and a half, with additional “aggressive” moves to be announced.
Terrell criticized the Biden administration, stating that “local prosecutors did not take action to file hate crime charges” and that “in major cities like New York and Los Angeles, jews have been harassed and denied access to universities.”
The task force plans to tour 10 universities accused of “harming jewish students and allowing harassment.” Terrell warned that universities failing to protect jewish students could face lawsuits and loss of funding.
