Greg Abbott’s Israel First Bootlicking Strikes Again

Governor Greg Abbott is focusing on Israel instead of Texas. On April 29, 2025, he wrote a letter to San Marcos. He called their proposed resolution antisemitic. The resolution supported Palestinian rights and an embargo on Israel. Abbott said it broke Texas law. That law stops state groups from boycotting Israel. This isn’t new for Abbott. He often puts Israel first. Many think this makes him a traitor to Texas.

Abbott has a history of supporting Israel. He banned state agencies from working with companies that boycott Israel. He also gave over $19 million to secure Jewish groups. He made a rule to stop Texas agencies from buying goods from Gaza. He signed a law against boycotting Israel. These actions show where his focus is. But Texas has its own problems. Schools, roads, and healthcare need attention. Abbott seems to ignore them.

Abbott’s actions don’t match what Texans need. He was elected to help Texas. Not to focus on another country. He also spoke about George Floyd. He said Floyd’s life would be a legacy. He wanted to honor Floyd with a Texas flag at the Capitol. But this feels fake. His real focus is on Israel, not Texas issues.

Abbott’s priorities are wrong. Texans need a governor who cares about them. Not one who puts Israel first. His job is to serve Texas. He’s failing at that.
