Germany: Afghan migrant who stabbed jogger to death ‘out of frustration’ removes court interpreter because she’s a woman

An Afghan asylum seeker reportedly stabbed a jogger, a French software developer living in Germany, to death in a totally random attack. Now, while sitting in court for his crimes, he has successfully had his court interpreter removed because he does not feel comfortable sitting next to a woman.

The Afghan man, Ramin F., is now standing trial in Stuttgart Regional Court, with the public prosecutor trying him for the murder of 56-year-old French citizen Fabrice D., who was out jogging and was totally unknown to the Afghan. Ramin F. stabbed him at random in the chest four times with a 17-centimeter-long knife, with one stab wound piercing the victim’s heart. Fabrice D. then proceeded to bleed to death on the sidewalk.

The Afghan fled the scene and ran into the woods, but the police arrested him an hour later at his asylum accommodation in Wernau, according to Bild newspaper.

Ramin F. entered Germany in 2022 and was placed in an asylum accommodation in Hochdorf, but he was reportedly constantly fighting with other residents of the center. He was transferred to Wernau right before the stabbing attack.

On the same day as the crime, he returned to Hochdorf, where he fought with a caretaker, saying: “I’ll kill you.”

The prosecutor indicates that the Afghan man targeted Fabrice D. “out of general frustration.” The murder was intended to release “pent-up aggression.”

The defendant has not yet testified, but according to observers in the court, he had his defense attorney remove a female interpreter because he refused to sit next to a woman.

Afghan society is one of the most patriarchical societies in the world, and this has often led to discrimination against women in Germany or, in some cases, outright murder.

One of the worst examples dates back to 2021, when a 29-year-old man from Afghanistan seriously injured a gardener who had been taking care of the greenery in one of Berlin’s parks. According to the police, the attacker did not like that the gardener, as a female, was working. He also seriously injured an elderly man who rushed to help the attacked woman.

According to the DPA news agency, the Afghan first approached the 58-year-old gardener in a park in Berlin’s Wilmersdorf district and then suddenly stabbed her in the neck several times. The woman was critically injured and close to death.
