A social media post promoting homosexuality and radical gender ideology has backfired on Victoria Police, resulting in the woke organisation censoring comments from everyday Australians.
Victoria Police, which has been struggling to recruit officers since its violent and unlawful enforcement of the state’s human rights-violating Covid lockdowns, shared a photo of an “LGBTIQA+ liaison officer” on Facebook on Friday for “IDAHOBIT Day”, a far-left initiative.
“Tomorrow, we join the community in marking #IDAHOBIT, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia. IDAHOBIT is an important day to show support for our LGBTIQA+ communities and take a stand against violence and discrimination,” the post said.
“We are a proud employer of people of all genders and sexual orientations and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Our LGBTIQA+ liaison officers (LLOs) serve as contact points for community, to create mutual trust between police and our rainbow community.”
The post soon attracted dozens of critical comments, resulting in police turning comments off, hiding all but six, and accusing Australians of breaching the Victoria Police social media “terms of use”, but did not specific how they had allegedly been violated.
But others shared the post on their own pages criticising the police for their left-wing bias and censorship.
“The police it seems are now employed to protect the gays, but who is the government employing to protect the rights of Christians, free speech, and for the rights of all children who are being brainwashed in our public education system by the group you are protecting?” one Aussie wrote.
“Diversity and inclusion but people’s comments are filtered out that don’t applaud! What a crock. How can you preach inclusion but shut out anyone that doesn’t agree or promote!” wrote another.
“They know that they’re promoting antisocial agenda, hence disallowing people to comment. How cowardly from VIC police!” wrote a third.
The backlash comes after it was revealed last month that 800 officers were off sick, mainly for “mental health” reasons, while the force is struggling to fill 1,000 vacancies despite drastically relaxing entrance standards.
According to statistics released in March, there was a 15.7% increase in criminal offences in 2024, crimes by children aged 10 to 17 rose to the highest levels since records began in 1993 – up 16.3%, while youth offending (those aged 18 to 24) was up 14.7%.
But despite the rising crime rates and staffing shortages, Victoria Police has continued to use manpower on far-left causes, including holding a large celebration for “Trans Day of Visibility”, taking part in multicultural festivals and homosexual parades, cracking down on peaceful nationalist activists, and giving immigrants free driving lessons.
And in January it was revealed that 683 officers have been investigated for sexual and domestic violence over the past five years, including 185 for sexual assault or child sex offences, while the actual number could be much higher.
