Orbán at CPAC Hungary: The American dream could come back under Trump, but the European ‘nightmare’ is in full swing unless the right can win

Budapest is currently hosting the fourth annual CPAC Hungary and once again, and this year, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán spoke from a position of cautious optimism. The Hungarian prime minister took an expected victory lap over the election of Donald Trump, who he vigorously backed throughout Trump’s campaign. However, he also warned of the extreme danger the right is facing from a hostile European Union and from rapidly shifting demographics within Europe due to mass immigration.

“My friends, what a change in a year! A real turnaround in civilization. Donald Trump has won, the Trump tornado has swept across the world and completely changed it. He gave hope back to the world,” said Orbán. “There are many people who have helped him. Congratulations to those who were there for the fantastic American victory. It’s the biggest comeback the Western world has ever seen — One Big Beautiful comeback.”

Orbán then went over Trump’s first 100 days as president, outlining what he saw as his key accomplishments.

“Are you here illegally? Go home! He abolished gender regulations, banished critical race theory, banned woke ideology from the army. He tackled the Deep State,” said Orbán.

The Hungarian prime minister also noted expressed gratitude that Trump, and Elon Musk, exposed the various liberal networks operating throughout the world, often with billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars through USAID. The organization and others like it funded everything from pro-migration NGOs to liberal news networks. This shadow money funded shadow networks and organizations, many dedicated to overthrowing conservative governments, spreading misinformation, and funding an open borders agenda.

“It turns out everything we thought was true. Covert agents, shadow institutions, money laundering machines, funding of politicians and politicians in foreign countries, including Hungary. Here we see the whole Soros empire naked, the king naked, it’s a pretty ugly sight,” said Orbán.

The Hungarian prime minister also expressed hope that Trump can finally end the war in Ukraine, despite various setbacks the White House faced at the negotiating table.

“And the hope of peace has returned. Let’s hope that soon hundreds will no longer have to die on the front line every day. Let’s hope we don’t have to shoot up cities, and let’s hope we don’t have to pour billions of dollars into an unwinnable war. Donald Trump’s victory and the liberals’ fall is like a dream,” he added.

“Instead of the European dream, we are now getting a nightmare”

Orbán continued by stating that while the American dream could be coming back, the European nightmare is in full swing.

“But what about us? What will happen to the dream of Europeans? We had a dream too. Our European dream was that if we European peoples united, there would be no more wars, and we could live in prosperity and security. Let’s work together! Let the sovereign states join together to create the safest and most advanced continent in the world. That would be the European Union, European integration.

But my friends have stolen that dream. Brussels has kidnapped it. It has derailed our future. Instead of the European dream, we are now getting a nightmare. European people do not feel safe in their own country, in their own city, on their own streets. They have become strangers where they were at home 20 years ago.”

Orbán then warned about the incredible demographic transformation taking place in Europe, which is a theme he has warned about numerous times in the past, but which many Europeans only now seem to be heeding, as evidenced by the soaring popularity of parties like the Alternative for Germany (AfD).

“Simple math is what they are doing to their cities. This is not integration, it is organized population exchange,” said Orbán.

He then listed a variety of other areas that showcase how Europe is almost entirely headed down the wrong path.

“Instead of European prosperity, companies are going bust. We pay between two and four times as much for electricity and gas as in the U.S. The Green Deal, the green transition, is killing our economies. It is slowly becoming a parody. And now, when we’re supposed to be negotiating trade and tariffs with a heavyweight US president, it turns out we only have featherweight leaders?” he stated

The right under pressure

Orbán noted that the European left is taking unprecedented anti-democratic actions to silence and even imprison those on the right, which only supports the speech delivered by J.D. Vance at the Munich Security Conference earlier in the year.

“In Europe, things are getting rough. The fiercest power struggle is underway. They know neither God nor man. (France’s Marine) Le Pen is disqualified from the presidential race by a court ruling. (Italy’s Matteo) Salvini is dragged to court. The AfD is under a national security investigation. Patriot events are violently disrupted. Communist left-wing thugs attacking right-wingers,” said Orbán.

“J. D. Vance is right. Today, in Europe, freedom is not threatened from the outside, but is sought to be overthrown from within. And everyone can see there’s trouble. The whole place is shaking and crumbling. Change is needed, this cannot go on. Our opponents know this. Friends, there are two plans on the table. One is the liberal, the other the patriotic plan for Europe. The liberal plan considers the old cultural Christian Europe to be obsolete.

They want to move beyond it. They have been working for decades to fabricate a new identity to replace Christianity and the nation.

First, I remember, they came with welfare. Let go of your traditions and Europe will be a world of happy and unrestrained consumption. Then it came, it didn’t work, then it came that Europe was going to be the continent of inclusion. And it came to the point where the Belgian-Israeli football team had to play in Budapest instead of Brussels. “

Orbán warned that liberals present enough problems for Europe, but pro-war liberals represent a whole new level of threat. He said that while the United States has finally become pro-peace, Brussels is stuck in war.

“The liberal plan is to centralize Europe on the pretext of war. If there is war, then more Brussels, even less sovereignty,” he warned. “According to the liberal plan, Europe must build a new economic model, a war economy model, on the basis of war. War is the engine of the economy in their minds. Joint indebtedness, central control and war chest. The key to this liberal plan is Ukraine.”

He said that Ukraine’s accelerated membership of the EU i”s the pretext for a warlike reorganization of Europe. The liberal plan leads to a war-torn, centralized and indebted Europe, where there is no freedom but there is obedience. Now, that’s the problem with Hungary. The Hungarian free-range breed is freedom-loving, and it is difficult to bend the knee. Rather than obedience and submission, he goes after his own head, we have a plan.”

He then presented a four-point plan. Firstly, peace on the eastern front, and second, sovereignty for European nations that eschews common taxes and joint borrowing, and rejects central economic control. Thirdly, the Hungarian prime minister called for freedom, including freedom of expression and freedom of thought. And fourthly, he called for Europe to be taken back from migrants.

“We want a Christian culture, nationalist schools, streets and neighborhoods without fear. We want to be proud of our nations. This is the patriotic plan,” he said.

“This battle must be won first by everyone at home and then together in Brussels. Last year’s European Parliament elections were a resounding success. If I add up the three right-wing groups, we are bigger than the EPP. Of course, politics is not just mathematics, but the perspective is clear. We need to work together slowly, step by step, surely. By the time the decisive battle comes, we must be united,” Hungary’s leader said.
