The Deputy Speaker of Poland’s Senate has issued a very harsh assessment of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Michał Kamiński wants Tusk to stop being the head of government entirely.
Since the KO-backed candidate Rafał Trzaskowski was defeated in the presidential election, relations in Poland’s ruling coalition, ruled by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, have clearly deteriorated, writes Do Rzeczy, with more and more saying Tusk should resign.
These many voices include Third Way Senator Michał Kamiński, who told the portal: “Nothing happened to make this coalition stop functioning. But everything happened to make Donald Tusk stop being its leader.” The senator added: “It’s like this. Nothing happened to question the existence of this coalition, but a lot happened, if not everything, so that Donald Tusk would stop being prime minister.”
Kamiński also said that no one will believe that Tusk, a man who “did not believe that Nawrocki would win the presidency and called him a pimp and did not believe that Trump would win and called him a KGB agent, is capable of conducting effective Polish politics?”
“Do I trust someone who threw mud at the American president and is unable to apologize for it? My answer is no. Do I trust someone who entrusted the fate of my coalition and all the values that are dear to me to people who I saw jumping at their own funeral on Sunday evening, election night?”
He then intimated that those running Trzaskowski’s campaign knew nothing about politics and learned their tactics from watching “House of Cards” with Polish subtitles.
