Nationalist activists from across Europe have held a huge remigration demonstration in Austria, where the anti-immigration Freedom Party is leading in the polls.
About 600 mainly young men and women gathered at Karl Lueger Square in Vienna on Saturday with banners saying “remigration” and “send them back” before marching through the city centre with flags and flares.
Photos and videos from the march show demonstrators waving a flag saying “can’t stop remigration” which others chanted “Antifa out” to the tune of European anti-immigration anthem “Foreigners out”.
Austrian activist Martin Sellner addressed the crowd, as did members of German, Swiss, Italian, Slovenian and other European nationalist groups, while left-wing extremist counter-protesters failed to stop the peaceful demonstration from going ahead.
The Vienna State Police Directorate said feral far-left agitators threw eggs and bags of faeces at demonstrators and police officers, leading to 48 arrests and six charges.

The rally was organised by right-wing activist group Identitarian Movement Austria, their third annual remigration rally in Vienna so far.
“This afternoon, July 26th 2025, we took to the streets of Vienna – with a single message: Remigration is necessary. It is legitimate. It is non-negotiable. It is moral,” the group wrote on social media.
“Antifa clowns, roadblocks, screaming – the system desperately tried to stop us. But those who demand remigration cannot be stopped. We don’t march for symbols. We march for solutions. Remigration is the only answer to the Great Replacement. Whoever loves his homeland must defend it – through remigration.”

Austria’s right-wing Freedom Party achieved its best ever result in last year’s election, finishing first on 29.2% of the vote, after making remigration part of its election program.
The demand for a remigration policy has come in response the ongoing effects of the Great Replacement in Austria, where only 73.6% of the country’s population of 9 million are of Austrian descent at the time of the 2022 census.
Austria has also been plagued by a growing number of rapes of local girls by non-European men, with the number of such crimes increasing since 2015.
