Don’t punch right.
This is a pretty simple concept, and an easy rule to follow if you don’t want the Overton Window to keep shifting to the left.
For those who are unfamiliar, it means that if we want right-wing ideas to be politically acceptable to the average person, we need to the “median idea” to be as far to the right as possible, which means we want to push/pull people from the centre towards the right, not repel them from the right.
It’s obviously okay and unavoidable to attack other people on the right, but if we keep the idea of “no enemies to the right” in mind when doing so we won’t inadvertently push anyone towards the left.
And since politics as we know it is all about bargaining and compromise, we should always take positions that are more extreme than the outcomes we actually want.
For example, if what you really want is “net zero immigration” you should be demanding mass deportations.
“But what if we win and actually get mass deportations?” asks the cowardly centre-rightist.
The answer is a) you won’t (yet), and b) if you really want net zero immigration then you should prefer mass deportations to what we have now.
The left has been doing this for decades, to great effect, while cuckservatives who insist on punching everyone to their right (the exact opposite of what they should be doing) have lost every single battle.
Again, this is all pretty simple stuff, and all of the best and most effective personalities on the right get this, but it is apparently far too complicated for many so-called conservative commentators to understand.
Two examples from the last few days make it obvious that these people are never going to get it, and need to be mercilessly mocked until they change their ways or are driven out.
The first is the NSN march through Melbourne on the weekend.
Even if you are only slightly right-wing, you should not be criticising the NSN, and you really should be supporting them. But if you can’t get yourself to do the latter, then at least do the former.
Why? Because they make your centre-right ideas look softer and more appealing to the mainstream population, and they take the heat off you.
Without them, you become the far-right. Think about what that would mean for you for a second.
And, of course, even if you are only slightly right-wing, you should prefer a White Australia to a brown Australia – the far-right winning should be better than the left winning.
If you find yourself thinking otherwise, then you’re not actually on the right at all, you’re either a confused leftist or you are more worried about being called a Nazi than actually winning.
The second example is the March for Freedom.
If you are just a common-sense patriotic Aussie who loves Australia Day and the flag, wants our country to be like it was when you were growing up, and thinks wokeness has gone too far, then you shouldn’t be worried about the march being “hijacked” by the far-right – you should welcome it, because at this point only radical policies can achieve the change you need.
By worrying about who’s involved or whether the organisers are too far right, or by denouncing people on your own side, all you are doing is playing into the left’s framing of the right as evil, and giving away your bargaining power.
So anyone who punches right is not your friend, and they need to be treated like lepers, lest they infect the whole movement.
We need zero tolerance for cuckservatives, zero tolerance for traitors, and zero tolerance for the weak.
Don’t follow them, don’t amplify them, and if you have the courage, call them out. They are not on our side, and are the reason we are in such a dire position in the first place.
Winning is everything but these people have never won anything – and they would rather keep losing if it means being liked by their enemies.
Such people cannot be tolerated any longer, and must be excised from our side of politics like the malignant tumours they are.
