Nationalist Leader Arrested for Defending Himself Against Melbourne March Attacker

In a blatant display of injustice, Australian nationalist leader Thomas Sewell was arrested at his in-laws’ home on Friday morning, following an incident where he defended himself against a homeless man who attacked him during a peaceful demonstration in Melbourne’s CBD. The video, which captures the moment of his arrest, shows police threatening to break down a glass door with a battering ram, a scene that underscores the heavy-handed tactics used against those who stand up for their people.

Sewell, the leader of the political organization White Australia, was leading a march of approximately 150 activists when a man of no fixed address ran up to him, spitting and punching him multiple times. Footage from the march, also available, shows Sewell responding with punches of his own before knocking the attacker to the ground. Despite suffering cuts to his ear and temple, and a back injury as a result of the attack, Sewell was the one targeted by law enforcement.

The video of his arrest is particularly telling. Sewell, standing calmly in a grey t-shirt and beige pants, is confronted by police who initially claim he is not being charged and is only being asked to attend a voluntary interview over alleged affray and assault. However, the officers quickly change tack, stating he will be arrested if he does not come outside, and that they “didn’t need” signed documents to take him into custody. Sewell’s response is defiant: “Look what you’re doing to my family – you know I haven’t committed a crime,” he tells the officers, who notably do not have their body worn cameras attached. “You have no legal right to be here, you’re trespassing on this property.”

As the situation escalates, one officer says, “Thomas you need to come with us,” and when Sewell asks if he is under arrest, the officer confirms, “yes, you are.” Sewell’s retort is sharp: “There we go, we’re under arrest, you didn’t say that before, did you? I am under arrest for defending myself.” He then labels the officer a “thug and a goon,” adding, “You’re a goon for the Jews, that’s what you are, that’s all you are, you’re a goon for the Jews,” as he is taken away.

This arrest is a clear example of the system targeting those who fight back against the degradation of our society. Sewell’s injuries, visible in photos taken after the march, are a testament to the physical toll of standing up for what is right. His words to reporters earlier in the week ring true: “I was attacked by a deluded deranged person that decided to jump in front of the ‘White man fight back’ rally. We were performing a peaceful demonstration in the city, which we have the right to do as Australian citizens, I was attacked at the front of that rally by a deranged lunatic, and I defended myself.”
