African thugs arrested over terrifying home invasion – four machetes and sword seized

An armed African gang allegedly terrorised a couple during a home invasion before breaking into another house and leading police on a wild pursuit through Melbourne.

Six suspects aged between 17 and 21 were arrested on Thursday morning after changing cars on the Princes Highway at Berwick, and video of the scene shows a group of males, all of African appearance, in handcuffs by the side of the road.

Victoria Police allege a group of male offenders armed with guns forced their way into a home in Rosebud at 2.50am, and when the male and female occupants barricaded themselves in a bedroom, forced their way inside, threatened them and demanded valuables.

The couple’s child was also inside at the time, Nine News reported.

The couple handed over about $1,000 cash and suffered minor injuries from allegedly being pistol-whipped, 7 News reported, while the alleged offenders fled the scene in a white Mercedes SUV, which police unsuccessfully attempted to intercept.

The gang then allegedly broke into an empty home in Thornbury at 5am, and the car was then pursued until the offenders jumped into a Mazda which then collided with a trailer.

Police arrested a 17-year-old and two 19-year-olds from Casey, a 20-year-old from Kingston, and two 21-year-olds from Greater Dandenong and Kingston.

They allegedly seized gun parts and ammunition from one of the males, and found four machetes and a sword inside the Mazda.
