A Victoria Police officer has been charged with rape, a child sex offence, and assault.
The 34-year-old male senior constable from a specialist unit was the subject of an internal investigation, police said on Monday.
The officer was charged with two counts of sexual assault, course of conduct sexual assault, sexual activity in the presence of a child under 16 and common law assault.
The offences allegedly occurred between June 2023 and November 2024 while the officer was off-duty.
He will appear before a magistrate’s court at a later date.
