“I would do that, 100 per cent,” Mr Trump said when asked about designating Antifa as a terror group during a question-and-answer session with reporters in the Oval Office.
He added: “Antifa is terrible.”

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested for the killing. Casings from the murder weapon were said by the FBI to have been inscribed with messages including: “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “Bella Ciao,” an Italian Second World War anti-fascist song.

Stephen Miller, Mr Trump’s deputy chief of staff, has pledged to “dismantle and destroy” groups on the Left that are accused of promoting and organising political violence in Kirk’s name.
