Police are looking for a Middle Eastern knifeman with a thin build who stabbed a stranger in the back multiple times in Melbourne’s north.
The victim, 18, was approached at about 3.45pm on Kingsway Drive near Edgars Road in Lalor on August 25 when an altercation occurred, police have been told.
The young man tried to run away but was stabbed “a number of times” to his back, and was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being helped by a passerby.
“The offender fled the scene and is described as being aged in his teens, perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance with a thin build,” police said.
“He was wearing a black tracksuit and a hooded jumper with large white letters ‘HOODRICH’. He was also wearing large black headphones and had a balaclava on.
Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images and CCTV of a male that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
