A day care employee in South Carolina was arrested for a “disturbing” attack on a child at a Christian preschool, authorities said.
Gladys Rampersant, 75, was arrested on Thursday and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child, the North Charleston Police Department announced. The alleged attack occurred in July.

Rampersant was working at Sweetgrass Christian Academy on Remount Road in North Charleston at the time of the incident. She was reportedly caring for a baby — less than one year old — and allegedly yanked the infant up by the arms and shook them hard before “slamming” the child into a crib.
The suspect went back to the baby, pulling them out of their crib and hitting them on the head several times {snip}
