Man, 21, charged with raping and robbing prostitute at knifepoint in Sydney

A man has been arrested and charged with allegedly choking, assaulting, raping and robbing a prostitute at knifepoint in Sydney.

Police said officers were called to an address on Blaxland Road in Ryde at about 10.50pm on Saturday, and were told on arrival that a woman was threatened by an unknown man wearing a mask and latex gloves and wielding a knife.

The woman handed over cash but the man allegedly physically and sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene, police said.

Detectives with the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad under Strike Force Hollins executed a search warrant in Castle Hill at 8.15am on Wednesday and arrested a 21-year-old man.

He was taken to Castle Hill Police station and charged with “aggravated sex assault-inflict actual bodily harm on victim”, “attempted aggravated sexual assault”, “assault occasioning actual bodily harm”, “intentionally choke etc person without consent”, and “robbery armed with offensive weapon”.

The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
