Fights with bouncers are not totally uncommon, but most people who are rejected from a club simply head home disappointed. However, one Syrian migrant in the German city of Leipzig appeared to have an entirely different reaction, pulling out a Kalashnikov rifle before being tackled to the ground by security.
This disturbing scene played out on Sunday at 2:00 a.m. in front of a trendy club in Leipzig, known as “N 39” on Königshauspassage. The 27-year-old migrant, Bashar A., was rejected from the club, which was at its full capacity with 600 people. However, he did not accept this, and returned to the scene minutes later to insist he be let in.

Once again, he was denied by bouncers. As seen on surveillance, he then moves away from the entrance, where he pulls an AK-47 rifle out of a bag before security tackles him to the ground.
The bouncers moved quickly though, knocking the man to the ground while he was allegedly trying to place a magazine inside the rifle. The security guards then disarmed the man and held him down.
“We are very grateful for how quickly our security company responded and that the police were there to assist within two minutes,” Langner told German news outlet TAG24.
When police inspected the weapon, they found that the firing pin was not inside, which meant the weapon could not be fired. Whether the suspect was aware the firing pin was missing is another question.
The Syrian man, who has many offenses on his criminal record, was arrested and taken to the police precinct.
Officers then conducted a search of his apartment, where they found a weapon that can fire blank bullets, said a police spokesperson.
After his arrest, Bashar A. was quickly released by police. He is being investigated for threatening and wielding a weapon.
Earlier this month, a man with dual citizenship from Germany and Tunisia was accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a club in Bad Kötzting in Bavaria. He later allegedly attacked a security guard and then “rioted” inside the police station.
Notably, clubs have become more aggressive places in recent years, according to arguably Germany’s most famous currently serving mayor, Tübingen’s Boris Palmer. He attributed the success of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party among young voters to the consequences of mass migration, which have transformed schools, clubs, and other locations where young people gather.
“They experience what irregular migration means on a daily basis,” Palmer wrote in a Facebook post last year.
“Above all, the young men who have arrived alone are changing the living environment of young people. In the park, in the club, on the street, on the bus, at the train station, in the schoolyard,” he added.
