An alleged paedophile has been arrested at an ocean pool on Sydney’s Northern Beaches a day after allegedly approaching a child inside a public toilet.
Police were called to Middle Creek Reserve in Cromer at 7pm on Sunday evening after a 13-year-old boy who was using the toilet allegedly saw a stranger looking into his stall.
The boy called his father and they confronted the man, who was described as having an accent, along with growing crowd of bystanders.
The man then ran onto a nearby main road with a bloodied face, the Northern Beaches Advocate reported, stopping traffic before getting into a vehicle with an unidentified person and leaving the area.
Police established a crime scene around the toilet block and started an investigation that led to the arrest of a shirtless 62-year-old man at Collaroy Rockpool at 4pm on Monday, the Manly Observer reported.
The man was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with aggravated voyeurism and stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear or physical harm.
He was granted conditional bail and will face Manly Local Court on January 15.
