After a second fatal train crash in Spain in just two days, the leader of Spain’s right-wing Vox party posted to X, with the message that “Corruption kills.”
Nearly 200 people were on board the train that crashed near Adamuz, 230 miles outside Madrid, sending the first two carriages off a slope. One person died, and another 37 ended up in the hospital, some seriously injured.
Just two days before this incident, Spain suffered its worst high-speed train derailment that left nearly 40 dead and scores more injured.
Many are laying the blame on Spain’s Socialist government, led by PSOE’s Pedro Sánchez, for not investing enough in infrastructure. The opposition party Vox has called for action to oppose what it believes are corrupt practices that have left the country without proper infrastructure spending.
Santiago Abascal vowed not to remain silent about the issue: “For the victims. For the injured. For the missing. For their families. For all Spaniards… …for the truth. I will not be silent!”

Vox’s Ignacio Garriga also posted to X to call out the government: “When are they going to stop blaming bad luck and the weather conditions and finally take responsibility once and for all? Not only are they a mafia that is putting the lives of Spaniards at risk with their disastrous management, they are also miserable and despicable.”
