A record-breaking number of Aussies are expected at attend Australia Day rallies around the country on Monday where a huge line-up of politicians, activists and commentators are scheduled to speak.
Patriotic demonstrations are set to start at 12pm in most major cities on January 26, all organised by March for Australia except for the Brisbane rally run by Australia Marches, and have been boosted by polls showing more Australians than ever support the national day.
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson is headlining the Brisbane event amid her party’s historic poll surge, and One Nation representatives are also speaking in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart.

NSW Libertarian MP John Ruddick will speak in Sydney alongside March for Australia national organisers Bec Freedom and Jesse Stewart, and British Australian Community president Harry Richardson will address both Brisbane and Gold Coast events.
United Australia Party senator Ralph Babet, One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts, Katter’s Australian Party leader Robbie Katter, and commentators Chris “Big Chocky” Katelaris and Sam Bamford are also scheduled to make speeches in Brisbane.
March for Australia revealed its speaker line-up on Sunday and asked attendees to prepare for hot weather, bring flags and stay peaceful.
“We are expecting to have high temperatures across Australia. Please make sure you bring plenty of water (bring a few extra bottles for anyone who forgets), hats and sun protection. If you are struggling in the heat, please find your nearest police officer or marshal wearing a yellow vest and ask for assistance,” they said.
“Also, don’t forget to bring your megaphones, hand-held speakers, signs and of course your flags. Remember, we are not there to cause violence, keep an eye out for agitators or strange behaviour and again, report to your nearest marshal or police officer.”
Australia Marches organiser Scott Challen said last week he was expecting record-breaking attendance in Brisbane after tens of thousands attended similar rallies in the city in August and October.
“Australians are angry and disappointed with their political representation and they are ready to step up,” he said.
Sydney’s rally will start at Prince Alfred Park, Melbourne’s at the Flinders Street Station steps, Brisbane’s at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, the Gold Coast’s at Macintosh Island Park in Surfers Paradise, Canberra’s at the Parliament House lawns, Perth’s at Wellington Square, Adelaide’s at Wigley Reserve, and Hobart’s at St David’s Park.
There are also events planned for Freedom Park in Cairns, and Bluewater Quay in Mackay.
Large “invasion day” marches held by far-left anti-Australian activists will also take place in most major cities, and police in Sydney and Melbourne said pro-Palestine activist groups are set to join the protests.
