Cheryl Minter’s daughter Stephanie was murdered at a bus stop in Fairfax County last month. The suspect is an illegal immigrant who had a lengthy and violent criminal history.
Now, Cheryl is concerned her daughter’s murder could have been prevented, and she wants to know what local officials are going to do to ensure no one else has to go through what she and her family are dealing with right now.
Long before Stephanie’s murder, police told Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano’s office three separate times about how dangerous Abdul Jalloh is, even warning that if Jalloh was released again, he could kill someone.
But did police share those concerns with Immigration and Customs Enforcement? They did not, because Fairfax County police sources told 7News they can’t – even in situations like this – because of a policy the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors dubbed the “Trust Policy.”
