Sri Lankan alleged fake casting agent accused of luring young actors for sex

A Sri Lankan man has been charged with with child prostitution offences after allegedly posing as a casting agent to lure young actors in Sydney.

Police said detectives formed Strike Force Vadobal into reports a man allegedly falsified documents and posed as a casting agent for an international company, offering false TV/film opportunities in exchange for sexual activity.

The man, 57, was then arrested at a home in Lewisham on Friday, where NSW Police officers seized documentation and electronic items, and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was then charged with six counts of “possess identification information with intention to commit”, “facilitate indictable offence”, three counts of “deal with identification information to commit”, “facilitate indictable offence”, “stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm” and “procure child for prostitution”.

He was refused bail to appear in court on Saturday.
