Man who claims to be a ‘black transgender woman’ to lead New York LGBT office

A man who claims to be a “black transgender woman” has been appointed director of New York City’s newly established Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs.

The city’s radical leftist Muslim Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani signed an executive order creating the new office on Friday and stood in front of a homosexual flag to announce he was making civil rights lawyer Taylor Brown its inaugural director.

Mr Brown, who is currently an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General, previously worked for the left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on its LGBT and HIV Project, and volunteered with GLSEN, an organisation that promotes homosexuality in schools.

According to a biography published by a homosexual legal organisation, Mr Brown calls himself an “openly black transgender woman”, while the ALCU stated in a profile that he “is particularly interested in advocacy and movement advancement centred on the intersection of transgender status with race and socioeconomic status”.

Mr Mamdani said the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs would work to prevent discrimination on the basis of so-called gender identity, and provide support for “LGBTQIA+ people and their families fleeing anti-LGBTQIA+ oppression”.

“New York City is proud of its LGBTQIA+ community and will refuse to deny healthcare, safety or dignity to anyone on the basis of their identity,” he said.

“With Taylor Brown as Director of the new Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs, the city’s queer community will not only be celebrated, but protected at every turn.”

Mr Brown said he was thankful for the “extraordinary opportunity” and vowed to protect homosexuals from “hostile actors who do not share New York City’s values”.

“New York has given me everything — life-saving health care, education, a home, a career, my chosen family, and a life of purpose. I am so proud to serve this city as the inaugural Director of the Mayor’s Office for LGBTQIA+ Affairs,” he said.

“I will work every day to ensure that the doors of New York City remain open to all and to continue New York City’s legacy as a beacon of opportunity and hope for those who have been ignored, discriminated against, and intentionally excluded.”
