An online prostitute who once appeared on reality TV show Beauty and the Geek has given birth while in custody for allegedly decapitating her boyfriend in South Australia.
Tamika Sueann Rose Chesser, 34, has been in forensic mental health facility James Nash House since being charged with murdering Julian Story, 39, in Port Lincoln in June last year, and in November authorities revealed she was expecting a child, but confirmed she did not fall pregnant while in detention.
Chesser, who described herself as a “model and actress” but sold explicit content on adult subscription site OnlyFans, gave birth inside the facility, but it is unclear who the father is or what will happen to the baby, 7News reported.
After her pregnancy was made public Health Minister Chris Picton said there were “protocols in place” to manage pregnancies in mental health custody, and authorities were speaking with Chesser’s family about custody.
Premier Peter Malinauskas also weighed in on the pregnancy revelation, and promised Chesser would have “access to very specific services that are tailored to prison health” to ensure the well-being of both mother and child.
A post-mortem on Mr Story’s body is due this month, and Chesser is set to appear in court in April. She is yet to enter pleas on charges of murder and perverting the course of justice by allegedly destroying the remains of her victim.
Chesser is accused of killing Mr Story inside their unit, beheading and dismembering him, setting his body parts on fire and then disposing of the head, that was not found for months.
After Chesser’s arrest police launched an appeal for help to locate Mr Story’s head, and released CCTV images and video of her movements during a two-day period between the alleged murder and her alleged attempt to burn the body.
The CCTV footage showed Ms Chesser – who regularly posted Jewish, Hindu, aboriginal and Ancient Egyptian-themed images on social media along with sexualised photos of herself – wearing a black Muslim-style headscarf as she walked her dog while carrying a large bag.
Mr Story’s skull was eventually found in bushland by a dogwalker on July 31 and formally identified as belonging to Mr Story in early September, just weeks after his funeral where he was remembered as a having a “caring spirit” and being a talented musician.
Ms Chesser was born in Queensland and appeared on reality TV show Beauty and the Geek in 2010.
