The Provincial Department of Education for the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, the central authority responsible for the region’s Education Management Information System (EMIS), has allegedly been compromised. A user on a cybercrime forum is currently advertising access to the department’s data for $50.
The allegedly compromised data includes:

Teacher full names and National Identity Card (NIC) numbers

Teacher dates of birth, religion, and ethnicity details

Personal contact information, including mobile numbers and addresses

Professional records, such as appointment dates, current grades, and school assignments

School directory information, including addresses and contact numbers

System logs containing IP addresses, user agents, and login timestamps.
