Woke Queensland Police quits X and hosts dinner for Muslims

Queensland’s woke police force has boasted about holding a special diversity dinner for Muslims a day after abandoning free speech social media platform X.

The Queensland Police Service, which regularly participates in far-left initiatives including homosexual “wear it purple day” and indigenous “reconciliation week” held the event for the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan at the Brisbane Technology Park Conference & Exhibition Centre.

The police said the event also featured an aboriginal didgeridoo performance, and the keynote address was delivered by former officer Dr Jason Hartley, an Islamic studies academic who has “dedicated his career to fostering multicultural understanding and strengthening community relationships”.

The announcement about the dinner came a day after the QPS was heavily criticised for deactivating its X account, which has 247,000 followers, “due to declining engagement, with communication efforts focused on platforms that better connect with our community”.

Many X users pointed out that the account actually enjoyed high engagement, with the exit post itself receiving 1.5 million views and other posts seen tens of thousands of times, and suggested the decision was ideological.

The 12th annual Eid Dinner was attended by Islamic community leaders and heads of other government agencies, and Acting Commissioner of Police Brett Pointing said it was part of efforts to make the state safer and “more inclusive”.

“The theme of tonight’s event, ‘United in Gratitude, Harmony and Relationship,’ serves as a powerful reminder of the values that unite us,” he said.

“Queensland’s diversity – reflected in our many cultures, languages, and beliefs – is what makes this state such a vibrant and remarkable place to call home.

“By embracing and celebrating these differences, we grow stronger together.”

Queensland Police has faced criticism in recent years for refusing to release descriptions of suspects, including of a Chinese man who scalded an Australian baby with hot coffee in a park in Brisbane in a suspected antiwhite hate crime.

Police only released a vague description of the attacker, which they said was to “avoid creating bias”, and he was able to travel to Sydney undetected and fly back to China.

The Chinese government has since refused to arrest the man, despite knowing his identity.
