A teenage girl has allegedly been abducted from outside a high school and driven across Melbourne by a younger male before being rescued.
Victoria Police allege the 17-year-old was entering walking into Keysborough Secondary College’s Banksia campus on Janine Road in Springvale South at about 8.30am on Friday when she was approached by her alleged kidnapper.
The male, 15, allegedly forced her into a vehicle and drove 60km to a home on Jezebel Way in Tarneit in the city’s west before officers from the Special Operations Group arrested him at about 12pm.
The girl was taken to hospital in a stable condition, Ambulance Victoria said.
The alleged kidnapper was charged with abduction and is expected to appear in a children’s court on Saturday.
Police believe the teenagers were known to each other.
