Middle Eastern man and three teens charged with gang-raping girl, 17, in Sydney

A Middle Eastern man and three other males aged 14 to 18 have been charged over the horrific alleged six-hour gang-rape of a teenage girl in Sydney’s southwest.

Adam Abdul-Hamid, 19, was arrested at his family home in Heckenberg on Tuesday, and police video shows his family abusing officers and saying in Arabic: “Shut your mouth, don’t say a word.”

He was charged with five counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s, and made no application for bail when his case was heard at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday. He will face court again on August 13.

Three other males aged, 14, 16, and 18, cannot be legally identified since they were under 18 at the time of the alleged gang-rape.

NSW Police allege the 17-year-old victim was approached by a male stranger, 16, who engaged her in conversation and followed her to her car at Liverpool Westfield Shopping Centre at about 5.30pm on December 15 last year.

When she reluctantly let the teenager inside he allegedly sexually assaulted her, and said he would get out if she drove him to Wheat Park in Sadlier, but when she arrived two more males got into the car and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

A fourth male then arrived in another car, and police allege the girl was then driven around in her own vehicle and sexually assaulted, at times by multiple males at once, while they allegedly filmed. She was left alone in her car at 11.30pm, contacted a friend and reported the alleged attack to police.

About 7.20am on Friday 20 December 2024, strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in Condell Park.

The boy was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with 24 offences including nine counts of sexual intercourse without consent, eight counts of aggravated sex assault- offender in company with other person/s, two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and inflict actual bodily harm, and five counts of sexually touch another person without consent.

Just after 7.35am on Friday 20 December 2024, strike force detectives – with assistance from South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group – arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home in Miller.

The boy was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with 10 offences including seven counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s, aggravated sexual assault in company and inflict actual bodily harm, aggravated sexually touch another person, and sexually touch another person without consent.

Both were refused bail and appeared at a children’s court on Saturday 21 December 2024.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 6am yesterday (Tuesday 17 June 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad – executed simultaneous search warrants in Sadlier and Heckenberg.

In Sadlier, police arrested an 18-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with nine counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s.

He was refused bail and appeared in a children’s court on Wednesday.

At the Heckenberg arrest, police arrested a 19-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with five counts of aggravated sex assault – offender in company with other person/s.

He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court today.
