Lubin is about a 100-kilometer drive into Poland from the German border.
According to Sylwia Serafin, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Lubin, officers were dispatched after a call came in shortly after 5 a.m. on June 14. “We received information about two men without clothes running near the railway crossing on Legnicka Street in Lubin,” she said, as cited by Lubin.pl. “The prevention patrol, which immediately went to the site, confirmed this fact.”
“The men were without clothes, they did not have documents with them. The officers called an ambulance. At the same time, they determined that the men were Ethiopian citizens. In accordance with the applicable regulations, an expert translator was appointed in the language used by both men,” Serafin continued.
With the help of an interpreter, the police interviewed the men. “They did not report that anyone had done them any harm or that they had been victims of any crime,” she said. The men were subsequently handed over to the Border Guard.
“Police officers are explaining the circumstances of this incident. Due to the ongoing proceedings, we do not provide detailed information,” Serafin added.
