‘Open Borders Queen’ Angela Merkel says anyone who shows up at the border must be allowed to apply for asylum

Breitbart has called out “Architect of the European Migrant Crisis” and “Open Borders Queen” Angela Merkel for new comments at a conference, also attended by former refugees.

“If someone stands at the German border and says they need asylum, they must receive the proper due process. As far as I’m concerned, the process can take place at the border itself, but a process must take place,” she said.

Breitbart wrote that Merkel was accusing Chancellor Merz of “bowing to pressure” from the anti-migration AfD. Both Merkel and Merz are members of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

Merkel was in charge of Germany during the 2015/2016 migrant crisis that saw over 1 million irregular migrants arrive in Europe in 2015 alone, primarily from Syria, Africa, and South Asia.

Earlier this year, Remix News reported that Former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz blamed Angela Merkel’s 2015 open-border migration policy for the rise of the right-wing AfD party, which has seen its polling numbers soar as Germans get fed up with migrant crime and welfare abuse while they suffer the consequences.

Just in May, Merkel made controversial comments regarding stricter border controls. The former chancellor warned that national border controls would not work while also threatening the principle of European freedom of movement.

“I do not believe that we will be able to conclusively combat illegal migration on the German-Austrian or German-Polish borders,” she said at the time.

Meanwhile, Poland has decided to reinstate temporary controls on its borders with Germany and Lithuania, largely in response to Germany dumping migrants in Poland and citizens having to establish their own citizen patrols to try and prevent these actions.
