A new nationwide survey has revealed deepening dissatisfaction with Austria’s integration policies.
Just 20.9% of Austrians believe that living together with migrants is working “very well” or “well,” while a growing majority considers integration a failure.
Three years ago, the rate of satisfied Austrians was 28%, and in 2022 it was more than 34%.
In contrast, almost half of the respondents (46.2%) say coexistence with migrants is working “badly.”
The survey paints a bleak picture of the policies of the current and previous centrist governments, but Integration Minister Claudia Plakolm is defiant, saying: “If you want to live in Austria, you must learn German, work, support yourself, and follow our rules.”
