Aboriginal crossdresser jailed for just six months for child abuse material

A far-left aboriginal crossdresser has been jailed for just six months for child abuse material of the worst kind by a Queensland judge who said he should not be “defined by his crimes”.

Jason Arthur Burns, 24, who has 58,300 followers on his @officially_underrated TikTok account where he dresses up like a woman, wears clothing with anti-Australian slogans, posts about his “pronouns” and complains about Pauline Hanson and “racist” White Australians, was sentenced in Townsville District Court on Monday.

The court heard police searched Burns’ phone and laptop and found 176 child abuse videos of the “most serious kind” in February 2024 after an anonymous tip-off, and he eventually pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child exploitation material.

Judge Tracy Fantin noted in sentencing that the children in the videos were “very young, from toddler age to 10 years of age”, but gave him just two years’ jail, to be suspended after six months in custody, the Townsville Bulletin reported.

The court heard Burns had been a high achiever in high school, winning awards in sport and leadership, and told him: “You’ve done many things of which you should be proud and your family is understandably proud.

“A person is not defined by the worst behaviour they engage in and your crimes don’t define you as a person.”

She also said it would be “heartbreaking” for Burns’ family to see him “in this position” but that they would be able to assist with his rehabilitation.

“I accept that you’re genuinely remorseful and ashamed of your behaviour,” she said.

But she also noted that while Burns had cooperated with police, the evidence showed he knew his actions were wrong.

“The fact that you actively sought out the material by using an encrypted online messaging application and then you stored it in a hidden folder clearly shows you knew very well that it was wrong and that you took steps to conceal your behaviour,” she told him.

She told Burns, who had been on bail since his arrest and had no prior criminal record, to seek help from Prison Mental Health Services while in custody.
