Australian Army slammed for teaching soldiers how to ‘craft indigenous spears’

The Australian Army has been criticised for teaching soldiers how to make primitive indigenous weapons during a woke cultural exercise in Canberra.

Defence Australia said the four-day activity “connected soldiers from across the ACT with Indigenous history, culture and Ngunnawal (the local aboriginal tribe) traditions” and involved “finding correct trees to make craft clubs, spears, axes and coolamons”.

Photos from Exercise Greenskin show soldiers in uniform making what appear to be clubs made out of tree branches, and officer in charge Major Samuel White, who is indigenous, said the activity “aimed to show there had been a warfighting culture in Australia for 60,000 years”.

But One Nation leader Pauline Hanson took issue with the exercise on Monday, and said that while it was not the fault of the soldiers forced to participate, the ADF should be focusing on modern weaponry instead.

“The Department of Defence has been caught forcing soldiers to craft indigenous spears instead of practising modern day warfighting. I hope spears and clubs aren’t our new plan for Defence instead of weapons and drones,” she wrote.

“It’s also good to see the ‘traditional’ Ryobi sander getting a workout in this ‘traditional’ process. To be clear, this isn’t the fault of the diggers. They’re being forced to do this by out-of-touch generals and our woke Defence Minister.”

The post sparked outrage and ridicule from many Aussies, who called it a waste of money and said soldiers should be learning how to defend themselves against weaponry used by advanced military powers.

“Can’t wait to see those spears in action against a fighter jet,” read one popular comment.

“I wonder how these will do vs those drones they been using in the Ukraine,” said another.

“What a joke, what a waste of taxpayers’ money, while people in Australia can’t even put food on the table. Political correctness gone mad, this has happened under Anthony Albanese’s government,” said a third.

The criticism comes just weeks after it was revealed the ADF’s woke top brass is allowing “transgender” and “non-binary” recruits to take the fitness test of their choosing, and warning commanders not to offend homosexual applicants by using the “wrong” pronouns or commenting on bathroom use.

Earlier this year ADF personnel marched in uniform in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese appointed Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, who has delivered far-left aboriginal land acknowledgments before speeches, as the first female Chief of Army.
