America’s New Diversity Queen

Meet America’s new queen of diversity. She is Darializa Avila Chevalier, and after her win in the Democrat primary, she is sure to go to Congress where she will serve the 13th district of New York, which includes the northern tip of Manhattan and part of the Bronx.

In this 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, it would be hard to think of someone more radically opposed — by race, sex, temperament, religion, and politics — to the signers.

For example, I suspect that not one of the men in that painting ever called the United States “a fucking disgrace.”

Darializa’s parents are Dominicans, and she clearly has some ancestry from the other side of the island.

She attended Columbia — I would guess on a full scholarship, because she says her single mom was just scraping by. She developed an intense hostility to America, whites, and Jews, and co-founded a student organization that calls for the “total eradication of Western civilization.”

After the Hamas attack of October 7, she went back to Columbia, where she took part in what become known as the Tentifada, and had to be forcibly dragged out of a campus building. Here she is as a Columbia Alumna 4 Palestine.

She calls herself an Afro-Latina, and has never had a real job. When she decided to run for Congress, she was “a PhD student at CUNY, [studying] how the U.S. immigration system criminalizes Black immigrants from Latin America.”

She thinks anyone who gets into the country should stay. During her primary race, she explained, “We just should not have a system that allows deportation to happen at all.” That’s because all deportations are “rooted in deeply racist ideology.”

And so, on her campaign website, which is festooned with photos of herself, her top priority is “We’re fighting to Abolish ICE.”

Next in line is “babies not bombs,” which means diverting military spending to children, and after that, it’s straight Democratic Socialists of America: Housing for all, Medicare for all, economic security for all, fighting corporate greed.

Her site is surprisingly silent on other pet projects: defund the police and abolish prisons.

During one interview, she was asked repeatedly whether murderers should go to jail, and evaded the question every time. On the fourth attempt, all she could manage was, “The fact that there was a circumstance in which that could even come to pass is tragic.”

She gave a campaign speech at Imam Al-Khoei Mosque in Jamaica New York.

The mosque has a high school where you can get “a quality education in a safe environment.”

Darializa converted to Islam at this very place, but not until she was 20, so she missed the chance to be a student.

She says she converted to Islam because of the “grace and love and passion” that her Muslim friends had for “social justice,” and she likes to wear a Palestinian keffiyeh scarf.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani thinks she is wonderful and endorsed her.

On her site, she brags about the people who endorsed her, and as you can see, only one is white. Emily Gallagher is a fellow member of the Democratic Socialists of America and almost as fanatical as Darializa.

Tweets she deleted before the campaign show her to be quite the frisky lass. “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me,” plus a smiley face.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio let BLM mobs loot Broadway and Fifth avenue, but Darializa thought he was too tough on them: “Bill de Blasio hates Black people. Pass it on,” When the mayor declared a curfew, she tweeted, “You’re a piece of shit.”

She endorsed a Chinese claim that Covid could have come from France, and added, “So you mean that once again it was people of color who intervened and stopped the spread of a European plague? Wow. Shocked.”

She has called Marx’s Capital “an essential must-read,” and complained that “public libraries did not carry enough Marxist literature.”

“Become bad bitches. Seize the means of production.”

“Most of the theory I’ve read is communism but the pyromania associated with anarchism is very intriguing to me.”

Burning things down is one kind of reform.

“Black men. Arab men. Fetishizing ugly colonizer women.”

That’s white women, of course. This has been comically interpreted as opposition to interracial dating. I think what she meant was she doesn’t like blacks and browns drooling over white women. She has miscegenation in her family tree.

“I have no nuance to add. Fuck Kamala Harris,” she tweeted in June 2021 in response to a clip of Harris urging Latin American migrants to “not come” to the U.S. southern border.

In May 2020, she wrote “I hate you” in direct response to Harris after she had posted about the need to reform the country’s “broken bail system.”

If you have no prisons, you don’t need bail.

In 2020, when Joe Biden ran against Trump, she said she wouldn’t vote. “Y’all really sitting here talking about how we HAVE to vote for one rapist over the other rapist.”

For the World cup, she is rooting for Senegal.

So, how did this charmer win the Dem primary? Her opponent was Adriano Espaillat, a 10-year veteran in Congress, chairman of the Hispanic Caucus, shown here at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.

He loves to brag about being the first Dominican and first former illegal to be elected to Congress. That’s the Puerto Rican flag behind him.

The New York 13th is the most heavily Dominican district in the country, with Hispanics at about 52 percent and largely Dominican, blacks 23, and whites only 15 percent.

So, Darializa didn’t come in first because she’s Dominican. She way outdid her opponent on promised giveaways and general craziness, and the Mamdani endorsement helped, but Israel played a huge role in her narrow win. NO IMAGE Because Darializa says Israel is an “apartheid state” and is “committing genocide,” AIPAC and its pals gave Mr. Espaillat $200,000, and its Super PAC spent at least $2.8 million trying to keep him in office.

This backfired. Darializa said that proves he’s bought and paid for, and promised, “she wouldn’t take one dime from AIPAC.”

She said she would slash military spending — especially for Israel — and use the money for free everything.

She picked up a handy $845,000 from the super-lefty Justice Democrats PAC and half a million from the pro-Palestinian American Priorities PAC.

It looks like Jewish dominance of New York City politics is on the wane. Immigration that Jewish organizations have pushed for so long doesn’t seem to have worked out very well for them. But that’s diversity for you. Different groups slashing away at each other rather than working for common goals.

At the start, I made much of how different Darializa Avila Chevalier is from the Founders, but I guess she studied George Washington’s advice to “steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.”

All the same, I think this may capture her best: “This country is a fucking disgrace.”

Come January, I suspect Darializa will be the fourth representative to take her oath on the Koran, after Keith Ellison, Ilham Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
