Muslims swarmed a Sydney Airport arrivals gate and shouted “Allahu Akbar” to welcome the return of three pro-Palestine protesters from the Middle East.
A crowd of flag-waving activists rushed into a restricted area on Friday morning, blocking other travellers from exiting, while police stood by and let them chant and pose for photos.
Video footage of the incident showed other returning travellers having to squeeze past the activists as Muslims in headscarfs ran through the normally quiet area screaming, filming and waving flags.

Far-left Pakistan-born Green senator Mehreen Faruqi was among the approximately 100 activists who clogged the arrivals gate to welcome Abubakir Rariq, Juliet Lamont and Hamish Paterson, who were detained by Israel last week after joining a Gaza aid flotilla.
Maritime Union of Australia activists also turned up with a banner saying “we will never surrender” in support of Paterson, an MUA member.
An ABC News report described the incident as a “thunderous reception”, and did not mention the chants, the violations of airport rules, or the inconvenience to other arriving travellers, while a report from News.com.au was titled “Wild welcome for Aussies in Israeli prison.”
The scenes sparked outrage from Australians, many of whom noted they had personally been stopped from approaching the same area while waiting for loved ones.
“I’ve never been able, because of security guards being present and stopping people, to run up the race when people exit. Where happened to that security? My observation is security is compromised and complicit,” one Aussie said on X.
“No arrests? Disturbing the peace, causing distress? If it was White people screaming destroy Palestine it would be a different scene,” remarked another.
“Usually if you make a disturbance at the airport, heavily armed police are in attendance within seconds. But that was before Labor destroyed Australia,” said a third.
Noticer News contacted the Australian Federal Police for comment.
