A one-time reality TV contestant turned online prostitute, who is in mental health custody in South Australia after allegedly murdering and decapitating her boyfriend, is pregnant.
Tamika Sueann Rose Chesser, 34, who sold explicit content on adult subscription site OnlyFans, is charged with murdering Julian Story, 39, at their unit in Port Lincoln, removing his head, and setting his dismembered remains on fire on June 17, but is yet to enter a plea.
Health Minister Chris Picton has now confirmed that Chesser is expecting a child early next year, but said she did not become pregnant at James Nash House, the facility where she is being held under a mental health detention order, The Advertiser reported.
Tamika Chesser (Facebook)“I can’t comment in detail on somebody who’s in mental health protective custody. Suffice to say that there are protocols in place between Corrections and mental health and our health services,” Mr Picton said.
“Our clinicians and other staff … will work through that appropriately, following the protocols that have been in place for some time. Clearly, there might also be interest from child protection, as well.”
Premier Peter Malinauskas said that as a pregnant woman in custody Chesser would have “access to very specific services that are tailored to prison health” to ensure the well-being of both mother and child.
It is unclear who the father is, and unlikely Chesser will be able to keep the child due to the mental health order, and authorities are understood to be speaking with her family about custody.
After Chesser’s arrest police released CCTV images and video of her movements during a two-day period between the alleged murder and her alleged attempt to burn the body, in an effort to locate Mr Story’s head.
His skull was eventually found in bushland by a dogwalker on July 31 and formally identified as belonging to Mr Story in early September.
The CCTV footage showed Ms Chesser, who regularly posted Jewish, Hindu, aboriginal and Ancient Egyptian-themed images on social media along with sexualised photos of herself, wearing a black Muslim-style headscarf as she walked her dog while carrying a large bag.
Ms Chesser, who was born in Queensland and appeared on reality TV show Beauty and the Geek in 2010, has also been charged with assaulting police, and will face court again on December 17.
