The Sinobi ransomware group has allegedly compromised Kan & Krishme (K&K), a prominent Indian law firm specializing in intellectual property (IP). Founded in 1989 and headquartered in New Delhi, Kan & Krishme is a highly regarded legal practice that manages patents, trademarks, and media law for a vast roster of international and domestic clients, including Fortune 500 companies.
The Sinobi group claims to have exfiltrated approximately 500 GB of data from the firm’s systems. According to the actor, the allegedly compromised data includes:
-
Full legal contracts
-
Sensitive customer information
-
Detailed financial records
-
Confidential legal filings and internal documents
-
Patent and trademark application materials
The threat actor has posted screenshots as proof of the breach, showing directory structures related to patent filings and internal financial reporting. A countdown timer has been initiated on the group’s leak site, suggesting that the data will be released publicly if ransom demands are not met.
