An Aussie has been praised for confronting an Asian man he spotted throwing a carload of rubbish into the bush and shaming him into collecting it all again.
Queensland man Joshua Partridge filmed himself approaching the illegal dumper and telling him: “Australia is not your fucking dumping ground, pick your shit up!”
He shared the video on social media with the caption: “Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world, illegal dumping in the bushland surrounding my home and I’ll call you out every time.”
The clip shows the man, who was wearing a red shirt and driving a silver Honda sedan, appearing to say “sorry” after he was called out.
He then walked back to his car boot and put the rubbish, which appeared to be pieces of ripped up furniture, back inside, while the local resident said: “All back in the car, now. All of it.”
“Good, now take it to the fucking dump, otherwise you’re going to the coppers you fucking idiot,” the man filming said when the trash had all been cleaned up.
The video attracted thousands of supportive comments, including from actor Lincoln Lewis, who wrote: “Good on you mate! Absolutely fucking disgusting seeing this happening all too often.”
Wildlife rescuer Josh Neille, known as The Wombat Guy, also commented, writing “Great work legend” along with Australian flag and heart emojis.
“Thanks for standing up for our country brother,” said one man.
“Legend mate. Every Aussie needs to get real comfortable with having these sort of interactions quick smart if we’re going to get this country back on track,” wrote another.
“Thanks for being a genuine bloke, most fellas say they’d do something and won’t stop to say boo. Well done fella,” a third Aussie said.
