Sixth Sydney man arrested over alleged satanic paedophile ring – 145 foreign suspects reported

A sixth man has been arrested in Sydney as part of an investigation into an alleged international satanic paedophile ring, and police have identified another 145 foreign suspects.

Police said they believe the 62-year-old is the final NSW-based alleged offender linked to the network after taking him into custody at a home in Woollahra on Tuesday and seizing his electronic devices.

He was charged with nine counts of “use carriage service to transmit child abuse material”, two counts of “use carriage etc to access child abuse material”, two counts of “person disseminates bestiality material”, “disseminate animal crush material”, “possess prohibited drug and participate in criminal group contribute to criminal activity”, and offences relating to refusing to provide his passwords to police.

He was refused bail to face court on Wednesday.

Police said investigators have identified another 145 alleged offenders overseas, with referrals now being made to other law enforcement agencies within Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, New Zealand, South America, and South East Asia.

The arrest comes less than two weeks after former NSW Police officer David Charles Turner, 42, was charged with “use carriage etc to access child abuse material”, “use carriage service make available child abuse”, “person possesses bestiality material”, and two counts of “possess prohibited drug”, and denied bail to face court again in March.

In November four other men – far-left journalist and alleged ringleader Landon Ashton Versace Germanotta-Mills, 26, was arrested in Waterloo, and Benjamin Raymond Drysdale, 46, swim coach Mark Andrew Sendecky, 42, and Stuart Woods Riches, 39, were arrested in Malabar by Strike Force Constantine.

All four were charged with similar child abuse material related offences and refused bail to face court again later this month.

The taskforce was established by State Crime Command’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit to investigate the online distribution of child sexual abuse involving ritualistic or satanic themes.

Police allege they then uncovered a Sydney-based paedophile network actively involved in possessing, distributing, and facilitating this material through a website administered internationally.

Detectives allege Germanotta-Mills, who runs a news site called Underground Media Network, played a leading role in the alleged paedophile ring.

A former Network 10 intern, Germanotta-Mills describes himself as a “Wiradjuri investigative journalist” and regularly posts far-left extremist content on social media, including demands for Australia Day to be abolished, promotion of Black Lives Matter, and articles attacking neo-Nazis.

He also has multiple posts calling himself gay and celebrating homosexuality and “transgenderism”.

Sex Crimes Squad Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty said after his arrest the thousands of videos allegedly exchanged by the international network were “particularly devastating” and that the group allegedly used confronting symbols and rituals to “torture” children aged from infants to age 12, and animals.
