Aussie trucker unleashes at Indian driver for failing to use rest stop toilet

An Australian trucker has blasted an Indian driver for defecating on the ground at a rest stop, and said Indians caused “substantially more” issues on the road than locals.

The Aussie recounted the experience in a video on his YouTube channel, Aaron The Typical Trucker, where he also hit back at a “one-sided” ABC News report about Indian drivers being the victims of racism.

But Aaron said in his video that he condemned racism and had many Indian truck driver friends, and wanted to raise the issue in order to find the root cause of the “clear divide” between Australian and Indian drivers so they can all “be as one” and get along together in the industry.

He recalled that earlier this month he parked at a rest stop in Mororo, NSW, just before 10pm and saw another truck pull up beside him at about 11.30.

“My alarm on my phone went off at 4:30. Right now, I looked out me window and that truck was already gone. I’m like, ‘that doesn’t sound like a seven hour break’, and where his truck was parked, there was a massive pile of faecal matter,” Aaron said.

“A lot of poo on the ground with a lot of toilet paper, and the toilet was not even five to 10 metres away. He just got out of the truck. I ended up catching up to him down the road, a couple of hours down the road towards Sydney because I seen his fleet number, and when I went past him, I noticed that he was an Indian.

“Now, I’m not saying that all Indians do it, they don’t, but one thing I can say is that you would never see an Australian truck driver do that. Never. You would never see them get out of the truck when there’s a toilet right there and just on the ground. They would never do it.”

Aaron also warned that Aussie drivers were being accused of racism for calling out dangerous behaviour, and accused the ABC of exaggerating and dramatizing the issue.

“Is there racism out on the highway? Yes there is. Is it as bad as what the ABC makes it out to be? No,” he said.

“The problem is in Australia we have been vilified as racist whenever we confront an issue, whenever we raise a concern. Now a lot of people are too afraid to, but look I don’t care anymore.

“We have to have conversations on what is going on and why it’s happening otherwise it’ll never get fixed.”

Aaron also took issue with part of the ABC segment showing an Indian driver on his radio, and said that in a decade of driving “not once have I ever heard an Indian driver come on the radio and try to work with us”.

The video attracted thousands of supportive comments, including from drivers in other countries reporting similar issues.

“I travel the Sturt Highway regularly and have noticed that only 1 in 15 Indian drivers will interact with you on the UHF. Unless they notice their mate. Then they will talk to each other in Punjab. This I believe is why the racist stuff comes up. I think this report was extremely one-sided. Maybe a reporter should spend a week in a truck with an Aussie and with an Indian to get a real perspective,” one driver said.

“The other day I was asked to train a new driver to which I refused and immediately the racist card came out, I was accused of being racist. The reality is that I do not believe I am experience enough to train another driver,” another popular comment read.

“I am not employed to train another and finally I do not know this person’s driving skill and will not risk my life for an unknown driver’s skills. It seems that you cannot do anything these days without being called a racist or un-Australian.”

“Yes, Australians have always had high standards – it’s what made Australia the mighty bloody nation that we are! Now, we’re having our standards undermined and it’s understandably upsetting every hardworking Aussie,” said a third.
