Power Is Good Actually

The Supreme Court case over birthright citizenship shows the impotence of the American Right, with its fetish for prioritizing means over ends. Despite full awareness of horrific consequences of birthright citizenship, the Court’s conservatives seem determined to say they are not allowed to solve the problem. Somehow, such restraint never comes up when it comes to the federal government acting on behalf of non-whites or abusing taxpayers.

The real problem is a Right that is not serious about taking power. Such a cowardly center-right is inherently controlled opposition, whether it is intended to be or not. A new Right, a true Right, is needed, one that will pursue power and will do what it takes to defend the nation’s existence. It’s the end that matters, not the means.
