Macron brutally mocked over photo with France’s World Cup team

French President Emmanuel Macron has been ridiculed online after sharing a photo of himself posing with France’s majority non-White national soccer team.

Macron, whose much older wife Brigitte also appeared in the photo, captioned the image of his country’s FIFA World Cup squad “L’équipe!” meaning “the team”.

But the picture attracted thousands of mocking comments, with some pointing out the vast majority of the team are not ethnically French, and others referring to false claims that Brigitte was born male.

“At least there’s one French man in this photo…” read one popular comment posted alongside a version of the photo cropped around the French First Lady.

“Good luck to team Africa!” read another.

“Climate change, no doubt,” said a French user with photos contrasting France’s majority White 1978 team with a majority black recent team.

“The Great Replacement is a conspiracy theory,” wrote Daniel Tryie, the founder of Canada’s Dominion Society.

Another popular response showed Macron standing next to a mysterious ogre-type figure and had no caption at all.

Others expressed anger over deadly recent riots by mainly African and Arab youths across France after a soccer game, which sparked calls for remigration.

A poll from earlier this year found that 60% of French voters agree that the Great Replacement is happening, 26% disagree the country is witnessing “a replacement of the French population by non-European populations mainly from the African continent”, and 14% were unsure.

Asked whether they thought the demographic replacement was a good or bad thing, 66% said it was bad, 9% said it was good, 21% said it was neither good nor bad, and 4% said they were unsure.
