An obese Iranian illegal immigrant has been convicted of attempted rape in London after a jury rejected his claim that he could not have sex because of his “micropenis”.
Hossein Mohmoudi, 35, who came to the UK by invader boat and was given free accommodation in one of Britain’s taxpayer-funded asylum hotels, followed his victim for almost 5km before trying to rape her in a laneway in Stratford in December 2024.
The attack was stopped by a passing cyclist after 27 seconds, and his victim told a court last year she was returning home from a Christmas party when she was dragged to the ground by a Middle Eastern mad with “yellowy, pale skin”.
“I just remember thinking he was foul. Really disgusting. Not clean. The smell. He was a smelly man. I think it’s still on me. A smoker. Not somebody who looks after themselves,” she said.
Mohmoudi claimed that he could not have carried out the attack because he had a small penis and low libido caused by obesity, smoking and depression, but was found guilty by a jury in Snaresbrook Crown Court last week after a consultant urologist told the court the Iranian’s penis was “normal”.
Prosecutor Christiaan Moll told the court Mohmoudi had illegally entered Turkey, Greece, Germany and France before entering the UK, and had five criminal conviction in Germany – two for assault and three for criminal damage, the Daily Mail reported.
The court heard the Iranian, who required an interpreter, claimed asylum after being sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment for piloting a small invader boat across the English Channel, and had previously been reported to police for stalking a woman while she was walking her dog.
Mohmoudi admitted being on a fetish website the day before the attempted rape but claimed he was practicing his English, and the court also heard he had applied to donate to a sperm bank.
Detective Inspector Thomas Meaden from the Metropolitan Police said: “The victim has shown great strength throughout what has been an extremely hard experience. I hope this outcome provides some measure of justice.
“Mohmoudi is predator who poses danger to any women and girls he may cross. Had he not been interrupted by a brave member of the public, he intended to commit further harm.
“I would like to thank the person who intervened and supported the victim ahead of officers arriving, and to commend all involved for their diligent work. Officers trawled 30 hours of CCTV to track Mohmoudi, following him from the scene of the attack to his home address – resulting in his swift arrest two days later.”
Mohmoudi will be sentenced next month.
