A NSW Police officer has been suspended after being arrested in Sydney and charged with two counts of rape.
Police on Thursday revealed an investigation was launched on December 28 last year after detectives from the North Shore Area Command received a complaint about alleged domestic violence-related sexual assaults.
The alleged assaults occurred on two occasions earlier that month, according to the complaint.
A 22-year-old Probationary Constable, who works in Sydney’s Central Metropolitan Region, was arrested at 8.25am on Thursday morning at Chatswood Police Station.
He was then charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent (domestic violence), and refused police bail to face court in Friday.
The officer has since been suspended without pay.
