A Chinese man was granted bail after being arrested at Perth airport where police allegedly found child abuse material on his phone.
The man, who lives in Perth, was returning from Asia in March when Australian Border Force officers examined his baggage and allegedly discovered vile photos and videos.
Border Force contacted the Australian Federal Police, who charged him with two counts of possessing or controlling child abuse material in the form of data held in a computer or held in a data storage device.
The maximum penalty for the offence is 15 years in jail, but when the man faced Perth Magistrates Court in March he was granted conditional bail, the AFP revealed on Friday before he was due to appear in court again.
