Mongolian DiDi driver charged with raping female passenger, 17, in Sydney

A Mongolian immigrant rideshare driver has been charged with raping a teenage girl in his car in Sydney.

Amarbayasgalan Yondonlodoi, 50, picked up the 17-year-old at about 7.30am on Tuesday but allegedly stopped in North Sydney, climbed in the back seat and sexually assaulted her.

He then continued driving for DiDi until he was arrested while dropping off a passenger at Sydney International Airport at abolut 6.30pm on Wednesday.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with “entering, taking or detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage causing actual bodily harm”, and “aggravated sexual assault – deprivation of liberty”.

He was refused bail on Thursday and will require a Mongolian interpreter when he appears in court again on July 30, The Daily Telegraph reported.
