In a bathing area in the Swiss city of Lucerne, an 18-year-old African asylum seeker went on a rampage and molested several women on June 28.
“He grabbed my ass. I told him to stop,” said one of his victims, 18-year-old girl Laura C., who was in the Nordpol bathing area next to the Reuss River.
The young woman, who has Spanish and Swiss citizenship and who lives in Lucerne, said that the man, who is from Guinea, approached her at around 2:30 p.m.
“He did stupid things and made us mad,” said Laura C. to Swiss outlet Blick. “I felt uncomfortable, and I told him to leave.” She then went into the water with a friend, but the African followed her in.
“I made room for him there. But then he came to me very close and grabbed my ass with his hand.”
Laura’s friend then picked up a stone and yelled for the man to go away.
Although the man left, Laura said he came back into the water and “did stupid things again.” They left for their spot on the shore but “he came and continued to rant and rave.”
The African then stole a little boy’s bicycle and her friend’s beer as he became more erratic.
She and others responded by holding him down until police arrived at the scene.
Laura said the man was clearly intoxicated and likely on drugs. However, instead of being arrested for his actions, he was taken to the hospital and released just hours later. Laura said she was just one of the women harassed by the man, with other reports indicating a mother and her daughter were also victimized.
He then returned to the swimming area and harassed Laura and her friends once again. The police arrived again and banned the man from the swimming area.

Laura C. said she filed a complaint for sexual harassment against the man.
“It was the first time I ever saw this man,” said Laura C., who added that “the police should not have let him free again.”
Now, she says she is afraid to go out alone due to the incident.
“I want to get out with a clear conscience and not think about things like that,” she stated. “It’s a free public space, and one should have respect for other people.”
Laura said she plans to contact a victim support center and tells other women to watch out for themselves.
