Judge Angela Tucker serves as a judge of the Texas 199th District Court in Collin County, Texas. A member of the Republican Party, Tucker won re-election unopposed in the general election on November 5, 2024. Prior to her judicial role, she was a solo practitioner at her own firm, Angela M. Tucker, PC, and previously worked as an assistant district attorney in Collin County.

On April 14, 2025, Judge Tucker presided over a bond hearing for Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old Frisco Centennial High School student charged with the murder of Austin Metcalf, also 17, at a track meet on April 2, 2025. Tucker reduced Anthony’s bail from $1 million to $250,000, granting house arrest with an ankle monitor. During the hearing, Tucker emphasized that her decision was based on the law and the Constitution, not public opinion, despite noting “unprecedented” safety and security concerns surrounding the case.

New video shows when the murderer was freed.
